Hi,
I was just wondering if you could point me in the right direction. I have decided to only plant natives in my garden (live in Katherine). As i am void of all gardening talents, i have no idea where to buy the plants nor what plants would be best suited to my region. What i do know is i am an absolute fan of the Turkey Bush, ylang ylang tree and the block colours of the season (white, purple, yellow, and red), the variety of grasses and encouraging butterflies and birds. So your words of wisdom and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Also any courses that would be of benefit.
Regards
Mary Moloney

Hi Mary,
Good question-
Natives are fabulous to plant, for local wildlife and to save water.
I am not aware of a native plant nursery in Katherine, but I will ask a contact we have there. Clare Pearce is very knowledgeable and used to run our nursery. Her email and phone number can be found- https://landcarent.org.au/groups/katherine-landcare-group/
We are hoping to run a workshop at some point for residents.

Hi ya,
Thank you so much for the speedy reply.
It would be great to attend a workshop, and I’d happily travel to Darwin at weekends for one.
Shall attempt to make contact with Clare.
thanks again
Mary
